Guru blunders - Guru comes good

April 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Well I suppose it is easy to be cynical and more. If one of the tall poppies makes a blue then……..it seems human nature to jump all over them.

I think it fair to say Joel Comm is considered one of the good guys within the Internet marketing world. A guy who has blown the lid on a fair share of internet scams himself.

Hmmmmm…….the worm has turned on Joel Comm recently in the promotion of recently released Google AdSense Secrets 4. And for those that don’t know Google AdSense Secrets (versions 1,2and 3) have become the most definitive chapter and verse on all things AdSense across the world (sorry for the hyperbole but facts are facts).

The original mile long sale copy page made no mention of subscribers being automatically included in a monthly $30 subscription on purchase of the $9.95 Google AdSense Secrets 4. It was in the order form but Joel Comm could not find any room to squeeze it within the rather protracted sales copy. Not even a sideways mention.

Bad, bad form Joel Comm.

But everyone I know has made mistakes and Joel Comm has proven to be human after all. He has since made good by inclusion of an alternative purchase model that offers customers a choice between the e-book only – or the e-book plus $30 monthly subscription service (first month free).

Anyways. Out of this mess I think a real good opportunity exists to grab yourself a copy of the best selling book on AdSense ever written (sorry for the hyperbole but facts are facts). In pitching the former $97 e-book at just $9.95 I have a sneaky suspicion Joel Comm was counting on cashing in on the sneaky subscription tactic getting under the guard of unsuspecting purchasers. Hence the vastly discounted price.

My take is that Google AdSense Secrets 4 is an absolute bargain at the price let alone the over 200 pages of pure gold AdSense wisdom within its covers. That’s why I bought it and that’s why I recommend the book rather than the shoddy and unbecoming method to market.

Lesson learned
