We want to build traffic to our web site and of course we want to get traffic fast. If we go from zero traffic one day to 100,000 unique visitors within a week the search engines, including Google, are going to be asking serious questions as to the authenticity and credentials of the web site. More to the point, they will probably shoot first and de-index, and if they can be bothered, ask questions later.

So when reading of ways to build traffic on this blog, or anywhere else for that matter, the caveat of natural organic growth has to be applied lest the spurt in exponential traffic growth is categorized as spamming.

Building web site traffic can a slow and tedious exercise or it can be reduced to an automated process (as much as possible). I am reminded of the tortoise and the hare. When it comes to Internet Marketing and building traffic I much prefer the hare with the implanted brain and wisdom of the fabled tortoise.

There are probably hundreds of ways to drive web site traffic. We will examine three that are highly effective and highly automated. In other words, they give us more bang for a rapid buck. A lot more.

We will consider:

1. Article writing, spinning and submission.

2. Directory submission.

3. Social Bookmarking.

All three can be largely automated and reduced to a easily repeatable process of web site promotion. Each will perform hundreds of ‘actions’ at the command of simple once only type mouse-clicks. Each will generate hundreds of one way back-links to our web site and inevitably drive traffic. Each methodology will leverage our precious time and leverage revenue producing income accordingly.
